About

My name is Derek Thiessen and I am on a mission to help others. I have spent a large portion of my life being an athlete and I learned so much from my experience. I achieved success in some regards, but often I look back and what could I have done to achieve more?

How could I have trained differently? Thought differently? Performed differently?

I don’t have the answers these questions yet, but I am on a journey to figure them out.

My hope is to be able to take what I learn about myself and share it with other athletes. To show them what it takes to compete at the highest level and the mindset they need if they truly want to make the most of their athletic experience. To become a Daily Athlete.

Stick around and see what I discover.

My Mission

My Background

Marketing guy – kdi (April 2016 – Current)

In a team of tech gurus, network technicians, and coding experts, I am the lone marketing man. Through different promotional and marketing strategies, I work to increase consumer awareness and educate potential customers on the many ways in which KDI can benefit their business.

Coke dealer (May 2014 – Oct 2015)

On a weekly basis, I would visit anywhere between 50 to 100 different customers. We would discuss weekly product orders, innovative products, and promotional strategies to boost sales and also take the time to address any outstanding issues a customer make have with our products or services.

Student Athlete – TWU Spartan (2009 – 2015)

Here is where I sharpened my tools and modeled the clay. I trained with one the best CIS volleyball programs in the country and a daily basis. It was here that I learned the most about myself. I discovered areas of weakness and thrived in the realm of a team environment.
